I'm a doctoral student in applied anthropology at the University of South Florida; I'm concurrently pursuing an MPH in Global Health/ Communicable Diseases.
You changed your picture! So how are things in Brazil. Tampa is nice. I am sure you miss it here. I spoke to Kiran the other day and he is heading to Brazil for a conference. I don't know if he contacted you yet, but I thought you two could meet up if you are both in the same town. Take care.
Thanks for the heads-up about the blog, Marc. I'm not 103 and I don't live in CA, although I'd be into moving there if the housing prices weren't astronomical. If you're into doing this much work, you can find me on www.myspace.com by searching under "Name" (I'm "Wannabe Karaoke Princess"). The blogs are public, so they should be visible to all.
You must have recently posted on several folks' blog because we are all responding today. I cut and pasted your myspace blog and for some reason it turned up an empty page by someone who says they are 103 years old and live in California. Today starts our summer fieldschool. The readings are excellent. We are using two books. One by Agar and the other by Schensul. I looked on the syllabus and Agar is scheduled to visit us here...pretty cool n'est pas? Take care Shana.
Hi Shana...Glad you like my work; I presume you are a student of Linda Whiteford's, and I am definitely a fan of her work; she, in fact, rescued me from the hospital in Tampa after the SfAA meetings. I will be in Rio de Janiero at the end of next month, as we have a field site there. All the best,
Merrill
