Hi Steven, sorry I missed your post on the group. Does your wish to go to Europe to study applied anthropology there still exist? I can only say, that in my experience, applied anthropology is really an orphaned field in Germany (Europe?). I think by far the greatest part of good research and practice takes part in the angloamerican world, maybe in Britain. Too bad :-( Let me know if you hear something else!
By the way, I like your research interests, especially poverty issues and urban anthro. :-)
